The Sungkyun Journal of East Asian Studies (SJEAS), published since the year 2001 by the Academy of East Asian Studies (AEAS) at Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul, Korea, is a refereed multi-disciplinary journal dedicated to East Asian Studies. With original contributions from all over the world and an increasing readership, SJEAS enjoys a growing reputation in the field of East Asian Studies. SJEAS, published biannually in April and October, has been selected for coverage in Thomson Reuters¡¯ Current Contents/ Arts & Humanities, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index (A&HCI). The 2011 April issue includes the articles on Classical Exegesis and Social Change, Hermeneutics of Ouyang Xiu and Ogyū Sorai, Li Shangyin¡¯s Poetry, and Excavated Bamboo and Wooden–strip Analects. This year will mark the 10th anniversary in October. In order to celebrate its birthday, SJEAS is preparing to publish a special issue on transnationalism, including Professor Timothy Brook¡¯s (UBC) article entitled ¡°Capital Punishment and State Sovereignty in China.¡±
